Available: GVP Patches

Gudy is a Dutch knifemaker and is in a niche of the knifecommunity well know for his creative, tactical designs, influenced by South-European cultural elements. He is well respected by colleges for his skills and knowledge of materials. On this blog you can find a couple of postings dedicated to him. Besides I can call him a good friend.

For owners and followers/fans of Gudy I still have some patches available. Originally these were €20,-. I can offer them for €15,-.

Medford Infraction

I am not a great fan of Medford knives. Sure they have a very nice recognisable signature, they are very well build & good quality, but for my personal taste too thick blades and too big & heavy in general. If you are looking for an indestructable knife, Medford should be one to explore.

But today I got a very nice offer of one of our respected club members (Bladestock Brothers). Just prior to the meeting he called me by phone and told me he had his eye on a special knife. So he had to free some funds. Hence he offered me his Medford Infraction for a good price.

The Infraction i not so big & heavy (still 165gr.) as most Medfords I am aware off. It is more friendly sized to my taste. And the blade is not that ridiculously thick (still 4.8mm), has a gorgious two tone finish and a superb hollow grind with a blade of S35VN. And Medford ships his knives in very nice, decent packages.

Increasing knife restrictions in Europe

Since a couple of years, in general, knife laws are gtting more restrictive within the European Union. This is very threatening and annoying for people like you and me, loving & living their passion for (collecting and using) knives. And a lot of jobs are at stake. So now is the time to unite both industry & community. Just take a look at www.europeanknifeassociation.com for more info about the initiative of a group of worried people (both from knifeindustry and community) to found a Association to defend our rights and start a lobby and educating.

If we do not take action, it is a matter of time before men’s first tool gets banned.

Elijah Isham’s Blackstar

Spring 2018 young knifedesigner Elijah Isham announced his first design to bring to the market under his own brand. Elijah, well known because of some succesfull collaborations with for example Kizer and WE Knife, designed the Blackstar totally different from his previous designs.

The Blackstar is a small slipjoint with clippoint. Available in Green & Black variety. Because the Blackstar was only available at a select group of USA based resellers, I organised a groupbuy for European knifecollectors. This groupbuy itself wass kind of a nightmare. But in the end all participants got their Blackstar.
